Family mediation

Family decisions made together, not dictated by a court.

At separation or divorce, almost everything that matters — the children, the home, the money — can be negotiated at the mediation table, at your own pace, without your family becoming a public court file.

  • Free information session
  • Confidential
  • No obligations

Mediation covers parental authority, the children's residence, contact schedules, child support and the division of common property. The divorce itself is pronounced at the notary or in court, but all its effects can be agreed beforehand through mediation — and the court validates the parents' understanding when it serves the best interests of the child.

The difference from litigation is not just time and cost. A contact schedule built by both parents is, in practice, easier to honour than one imposed — and the children do not become disputed territory between lawyers, psycho-social inquiries and witnesses.

Situations we frequently handle

  • Contact schedules with the children
  • Child support — amount and payment arrangements
  • Division of common property
  • Agreements preceding a notarial divorce
  • Co-parenting communication after separation

Illustrative example

The context

Two parents mid-divorce, each with a lawyer, deadlocked over the children's schedule and the fate of the jointly owned flat.

The stakes

The stability of two school-age children and avoiding a lawsuit estimated at over two years.

The approach

Three sessions. The schedule was built around school and holidays, support was tied to documented real incomes, and the flat was kept by one parent with an instalment-based equalisation payment.

The result

Agreement confirmed by the court through a consent judgment within six weeks. The parents communicate civilly; the children have a clear, predictable routine.
