Criminal matters are delicate, with strict deadlines and conditions: not every case can be mediated, and the effects on criminal liability are exclusively those provided by the Criminal Code, the Code of Criminal Procedure and Law no. 192/2006. That is precisely why, in our office, these cases are handled by a mediator specialised in criminal matters.
Mediation offers a structured, confidential setting in which the parties can discuss the deed, the repair of the damage and reconciliation — where the law allows it. The mediation agreement or, as the case may be, the minutes are communicated to the judicial authorities, which apply the effects provided by law.
